Oh dear, I don't like the sound of this. We have a new arrival due end Jan/start Feb and we'd come to the conclusion that the GT although big enough is probably not going to be the most practical. So a 159 was on the cards.
We (that's the royal we) ordered the Quinny Buzz and the Maxi Cosi seat, and were intending to get the family fit isofix base.
I point blank refuse to get a "mam bus".
What's the 159 like in general and in terms of practicality with a small child i.e. boot big enough etc etc ?
Anyone care to post some pics of the seat fitted and the remaining room ?
You'll be fine if you go for the 159... I had the Maxi cozy / Buzz system.... as I said above I'm 6'1" and I like to be well back from the wheel/dash.... having said that my wife, baby and I have gone away for weekends with all our luggage, baby equipment, steriliser, buggy, carry cot, teddies, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc!!!
and while the car was well packed it did all fit nicely.. the boot on the 159 is great.. the 'mouth' opening is slightly narrower than a 156 but, it the internal volume is defo bigger than the 156.
When I needed a rental car for work back in 2006 I had hired a Mondeo, Volvo S40, and a 159 at different times. I found the 159's boot was great to store all the test equipment and I didn't need to use the back seats.... so all my gear was out of sight.
I'll try and find some old picts of the small lad in the back of the car and post them here for an idea of the maxi-cozy travel system.
Best of luck with the new arrival btw. Your baby will thank you in years to come for ferrying him/her around in such a ledgendary marque an as Alfa Romeo!! Classy parents!
