Is it ok to let 159 rolls in neutral gear (not in D mode)?

Not sure if there is any similar thread on this topic.

I have been driving my precious 159 for 3 years now and since the first day, I have been driving in manual mode (not in D mode), switching gear level with the pedal switch. When I see the red light, I would engage to neutral gear from whichever gear I was at and letting it roll forward, applying brakes to bring it to a stop. This is my driving habit.

Question now: Is it fine to let it rolls in neutral? Any harmful mechanical effect to the gear box? I am aware that 159 runs on a manual transmission gearbox instead of auto-transmission gearbox. So far, I do not have any issues. Just want to check to all to have a peace of mind.

Many thanks.
