Any hints and tips on buying a used 159 jtdm?
I have been considering selling my Seat Leon Cupra TDI and purchasing a 159 jtdm. The Cupra has been remapped to 190bhp with lots of torque but its nearly 6 years old now, showing a bit of ageing and I really fancy a complete change to the 159.
I have had a test drive of an 06 plate 1.9jtdm Lusso saloon in Alfa Silver with blue leather from an Alfa Dealer. Pricing seems quite reasonable, 1 owner, £8500 with 12mnths warranty and MOT and breakdown cover, its covered 52k now so I will be requesting a cambelt and water pump change to seal the deal and try and haggle the price down. It will be serviced prior to collection also.
It has the split fold seats which are essential for carrying my mountain bike if I dont put it on the roof, and front rear park sensors and visibilty pack.
Now the 159 has to be the Lusso for all the added extras and I feel the 1.9 will be adequate and can always be remapped at a later stage.
I'm just enquiring as to what main points should I be looking out for when buying the car?
I'm going to have a proper look around the car again before I purchase so can anyone help me with the common faults people need to look out for when buying these lovely motors?
