Paint sealant

I am considering having paintwork on my 159 2.4 JTDM treated with a paint sealant ( Auto Armour or Amazing glaze ) , possibly alternative brand names in UK . Supposedly it protects paintwork for up to 3 years without need for polishing .

Has anyone experience with this or similar . Alternatively should i just keep on using a good car polish like Maguires.

If you have not already, you may be better asking the question on the Car Detailing Lounge...

Indeed. I'm very happy with Chemicalguys JetSeal 109. Durable, easy application + very nice shine. Get the nice wax on top of it and you are sorted for the winter.

However, it will not last 3 years... (not that it actually should). It will also not help you with scratches. The sealant will just prevent bonding between dirt and the paint, hence protecting it from elements to some degree but will not act as an armour.

I bought a 3 year old car which was Supagarded when new. I've never seen so much crud picked up by the clay bar. There was no water beading what-so-ever.

Does it prevent dirt bonding with the paint for 3 years? No, categorically no!

I'd personally stick to Autoglym SRP and wax.

Don't waste your money, seriously! The products used in these things are actually quite good, nothing will last for 3 years though, but it's the monkeys who apply them (usually the dealership) who **** it up and actually do more harm than good.

Check out the detailing lounge and get some good advice on paint sealants you can use yourself for a fraction of the cost and get far better results. There are plenty of members on here who could help you out with some good advice.
