Halfords do a version of it however if you use their little car checker tool with the fluids which tells the novice which to put in - it will direct you to red fluid for all 159 / Brera regardless of engine.
The whole situation is a shambles.
Just phoned my local dealer this morning and indie friend who both stil stipulate that red is fine for the 1.9 and 2.2 and a change is ONLY required if their is excessive noise from the pump. Dealer said this is the official line from Alfa
No it isn't (the item that is in bold). I visited my dealer this lunchtime and discussed at length with the Service Manager and the Senior Technician over the 'green' fluid. They have received instructions (a service bulletin) to change the fluid in all 159s and Brera/946 Spiders to green, regardless of engine size.
Don't even bother about wondering whether red fluid is ok. Just change it. For the sake of a small outlay, isn't it worth it to avoid problems down the line? Why wait until there's noises before changing it? Surely that's too late? UTTERLY STUPID ADVICE.
Don't see Red: Go Green
