With respect... sorry if i find your post a little confusing.....
You have previously critisised me for not taking note of what Acellera users claim about the tyres then susbsequently declared that you are prepared to pay a considerable premium not to use them.... I'm not quite sure which side of the fence you sit?
My issue has never been that Acelleras are unsafe..meerely that they are in no way comparable to OE tyres, whether that be Pirelli or Continental and that anyone who claims that they are (based on their own perceptions) are clinging on to that in an attempt to eleviate their own concerns about fitting a budget tyre, these same people who have claimed the need to moderate their driving style having fitted them.
The Acellera tyre is no doubt 'adequate' and fit for purpose, then again the same could be said for many things (ie. minimum levels of performance requirements achieved) however, my choice is not to take a risk on an unproven product. The fact a forum poster monotonously harps on about how they are brilliant and belittles those who choose a premium brand and accuses them of having too much money is nothing short of childish.
Functionally adequate...yes, but given the choice 50mph emergency stop, which tyre would you choose? that is not an insignificant question! and whatever the likelihood of that ever happening is....for me, it's not a chance i want to take.
As has been said before, if you can't afford the tyres don't buy the car, simples
Mikeyw, this has become a bit tyresome
yes, it was the same tyre tested (the PHI) and it is unlikely that a tyre would 'work' with one car and not with another, especially where the drivetrain/suspension/wheels/etc are similar if not shared.
Personally, I am very happy that you are happy with the tyres and wish you many more happy miles on them
I think everyone has had enough of this so i have no intention of posting further comments on the matter and hope everyone take care and drive within their own and their cars limits.
(I will still read with interest
All the best, goodnight
