I'm basing my judgement on real world experience.....are you ?
Did you chose to ignore my question re alignment ? - hope you have had it checked for your own safety
OK, My only judgement is that Accelera tyres won't perform as well as the original continental....100% fact.
I am not judging you for fitting them or saying that they are deadly, whatever tyre you choose to fit is entirely up to you but to try to convince every one that Accelera are as good as Continentals is ridiculous.
Yes they are much, much cheaper....great saving, fantastic!
Personally on the basis of the one test shown on TV some time ago where the wet braking was compared between Conti's and Accelera I would rather spend the extra ££'s for my tyres.
I am by no means rolling in ££'s but if you can afford to drive round in a £20k+ motor expensive components are par for the course and to my mind tyres are one of, if not the most important wear and tear items on a car and as such it is worth fitting the best you can.
When i bought the car I was aware of the geometry issues and also the cost of replacement tyres and factored that in to my considerations when purchasing it.
As for your argument about snow driving, all 'summer' tyres are ****e in snow and comparing them to what you think you can remember about your conti's last year is a bit vague at best, hardly factual!
I will anticipate your derisory comments about the test between Continental and Accelera being biased etc etc, but until you can present some contrary evidence/data showing any area other than financial where Accelera out performs Conti's, i'm affraid it will fall on deaf ears.
PS.. re. wheel allignment, No, didn't chose to ignore it at all, it just didn't really warrant a reply as it is so obvious!
But now you mention it, of course I have, courtesy of the boys at Nottingham Wheel Allignment on their Hunter.
Thanks for your concern though.
I will await your official test results based on the comparison between your worn down to the indicator Conti's and the amazing improvement when you fitted your Accelera's with 8mm tread
