New 159 owner, recurring problems...
I've been a 159 1.9 jtdm owner for about 4 months now. It's 3.5 year old SW with one year dealer warranty. Car is obviously great in most respects but I've had persistent problems since about the third week of ownership. In summary:
- hill holder warning light (intermittent)
- vehicle protection system not available (remaining consistently on for a day or two, car then fails to start, corrects itself and disappears given about an hour or overnight)
- fuel injection / have engine checked warning light
First visit to garage indicated a fault with a clutch switch, which they attempted to fix. They also did a forced dpf regeneration which got rid of the fuel injection warning. Hillholder/vehicle protection warnings reappeared however within two days. Second visit and the garage replaced the switch and there were no issues for about six weeks.
Last week, car went into limp mode, fuel injection/have engine checked light reappeared. Drove it to the garage on Friday morning and on the way the vehicle protection light appears....
According to the garage (as of yesterday), they've sent software logs to AR-UK technical team (I'm based in Ireland), who apparently are familiar with the problem (overfueling...) and have a fix. Garage ran the fix, have sent the details back to UK and are awaiting confirmation that all is well...
Car has about a 50/50 mix of urban and motorway driving, I'm not aware of any dpf regen happening as I've driven it, or at least seeing the obvious signs of one.
Apologies for the length of this post - and also using it as an introduction (first post). A lot of the information here has been really useful so far and I've been able to get up to speed on a lot of the issues, but would be interested in some general feedback if anyone else has experienced similar issues. At this stage my confidence in the car is beginning to drop. Wife and two kids stranded once already with failure to start and I've got a trip to the UK this weekend... Pity, as I previously owned a twin spark GTV which had no problems.
