most of the above are from non brera s owners, so falken etc are not an option.
as i understand it , the only 3 choices are pirelli/conti/accelera
i have 2 accelera on my s and the jury is still out. there is a definite bounciness to them and on bad roads (i live on the verges of the new forest) the ride is awful. that said the pirellis were not a lot better.
on better A roads i can tell very little difference.
i have had the back slip out once with the acceleras (they are on the back) but it was after a downpour on dry roads, so the surface was greasy.
that said i don't drive very fast at all, so stopping distances etc are not as crucial to me as others.
maybe as SR notes above, the 3.2 driven spirited requires a premium tyre. for me, the 2.2 allied with my driving habits don't warrant a premium tyre.
i did say in another post that i would return to pirellis as soon as these are worn sufficiently. however, a week later with colder temperatures, the car is behaving itself a lot better.
and that to me is the dilemma with the brera s. one day i love it, the next it bugs me. how much of that is down to the tyres, the weather, the conditions etc is very subjective. it would be great to be able to slag the budgets off as 'ditch finders' as some do, but in all fairness i can't do that. and i would buy them again if money was tight.
