...of the problems????
As I have mentioned of various other threads, my car has now done about 6000km and tad over with zero problems and nothing but good vibes all the way around since its purchase. Yet in saying this, slowing creeping up have been a couple of really minor issues, which are only natural, yet with perhaps 2 more severe issues that are at the moment not that bad but could be later on down the track give or take varying conditions.
So this weekend just gone, we took the car to our local dealership where the car was purchased, which is about 160km thereabouts away in the next major town, to have the cars 2nd major service as well as have the issues looked at.
Minor Issues to date:
Rear LH/Passenger side has that Brera material squeak - again, no big issue but has increasingly and progressively been getting ever so slowly worse and extremely annoying.
Sometimes when washing the car with a very light jet-wash (not a normal jet wash but the water has far less pressure and is diffused more) even as I very carefully and constantly move the sprays concentration in circles to take the focus off any one spot as well as heavy rainy days, water sometimes creeps just past both passenger and drivers side doors seals to dampen the leather surrounding the bottom LHSide of the door panel - again, not a big issue but could lead to water damage, mold and leather pitting over time [short or longterm...?].
The Passengers seat handle release becomes stuck due to the plastic in the release overlapping slightly and usually gets caught on the handles housing.
The Carbon Fiber panel that surrounds the gear gate and lower center panel has a 1.4mm gap at the very lower bottom, below the gear gate where the CF panel meets the leather. Very irritating and just poor fitting, even though the CF is rather good quality as an interior aesthetic item, it should by all means meet flush to the leather. Yet, this can not be moved and there seems to be no solution and this is the second one tried, so all must be the same in that regard.
Major Problems to date:
The steering when either moving or stationary as the wheel is rotated left or right, makes that slight crackling sound, the level of steering fluid was just a smidgen lower than it should have been so this may have been a contributing factor...? Yet, they are investigating this with no probs in terms of warranty or what have you - as is expected for a car spanking new.
When accelerating either up a hill or slight incline, or when overtaking slightly more aggressively than the average joe-slow-bloke, there seems to be a very definitive "gggggGGGRRRRRRrrrrrr" / (slash) "whine+ing" sound that is not normal to my ears after being very familiar with the sounds the car makes. This does not happen often and is very intermittent, so is hard to effectively demonstrate what it is I have been hearing and as is often the case, it would not produce the sound when demonstrating - a-typical. So they may not be able to find the possible cause or thereof after plugging it into the computer to see what's what!
So, they have given me a 2002MY 147 2.0 as a loan car (with the RHSide headlight down ha ha ha) and they have the Brera for the week so see if they can nail the issue down - touch wood. I just hope that I get the car back in the pristine condition that I gave it in as well as some of the issue to date, having been repaired when we pick it up. Although I am not expecting all the issues.
So far though, they have been really fantastic with their attention to details, customer service, mechanics ability and his very friendly manner with no arrogant or elusive precondition hammering at the discussions as well as their extreme patience as I try to describe the issue with lots of sound gestures
Pick it up next week on the Sunday, see how we go...!
Anybody else with the 2009/2010 MY Brera or 159s with similar issues?
