Thermostat change on 2.4 engine

My temp fluctuates between 85 and 90. ( it mainly stays at 90 most of the time)

I'm a bit particular so would like to swop it over. Would this be a diy job? I can see the thermostat but it seems to be tucked behind lots of metal??

Anyway, I can buy the part for 50 so thinking I can save myself a bit of money by fitting it myself.

Sorry for such a boring thread but any tips greatly appreciated

Did you manage to get this done ? Was it easy to change yourself ?

I can't even find the 159 2.4 thermostat listed anywhere. All the usual Alfa websites only list the 159 1.9 thermostat or the 156 2.4 20v ones. Is it different ?
