Well Happy 159 JTDm and Shell VPower Diesel

Had my 1.9 JTDm for just over a month, after reading about the dpf/egr problems I was wondering whether using VPower Diesel helps at all. Car is a dream to drive, still not entirely convinced I prefer diesel over petrol after 9years with a Twin Spark (147)....

I've had my 1.9 JTdm for 3 1/2 years with no DPF/EGR issues at all, and it has been run almost exclusively on standard diesel.

I am sure that the type of driving you do is more significant than the fuel you put in it. I do 18,000 miles a year, and the trip to work involves a decent motorway stretch where everything gets fully up to temp. I like to stretch the car's legs frequently aswell

I agree with ptcoll - its more down to the type of driving.

My journeys were mainly over 40 miles minimum and although I could see a few DPF regens from time to time on the instantaneous fuel consumption, I never had any EGR or DPF problems.

I DID use VPower for the last 7 or 8 months of my cars life and I told myself it was quieter, cleaner and more powerful - but paying anything up to 7p/litre more than standard diesel I had to tell myself something!
