I've had a few issues with mine.
1. Failed flexi pipe coming out of the compressor. The part at the front of the engine that moves from alu pipe to rubber. The crimped joint had a tiny hole in it. Symptoms were warmer air and a dry asthmatic sound coming from the system when the compressor was switched on. The pipe was replaced (£134 just for the pipe!!) and all was well after a re-gas.
2. The joint going into the condensor failed. If you look at the passenger side fog light, behind the plastic grill there is a alu pipe joint, this one had gone. Bumper had to come off to get at it, then replaced, then re-gassed.
Fingers crossed nothing else goes on it now!!
Each low gas was accompanied by a dry asthmatic sound from the system. Very noticable.
The compressor will switch itself off if the pressure drops below an acceptable limit, so no worries of burning it out.
Get a trusted air con tech to test the conpression and how much gas you have in. They may need to add some dye if there is the worry of a leak. UV dye can then be seen a few days later.
Moved over to the dark side
And loving it
