Where is my steering fluid??
OK so I know about the whole Brera / 159 steering rack failure issue and to be honest my Brera has been mainly trouble free - apart from the odd creak and groan over the winter.
However, yesterday and this morning my car has been very poorly. Horrible groaning noises when turning the wheel left and right - classic PAS pump groans.
Was planning to park it up and call my local dealer on Tuesday probably in anticipation of a new rack requirement (car done 28K and under warranty so not that concerned) however needing the car for a 500 mile journey on Thursday is a concern.
Before doing that, I decided to lift the bonnet and check the reservoir - my powering steering fluid is BELOW the min mark on the dipstick. My car was serviced 2000 miles ago by Palmers in Hemel - where has the fluid gone?
It is the red fluid in case anyone is wondering, and I have had no problems with it bubbling or trying to escape - there are no leaks under the car nor have there been.
I am going to go to Halfords this morning and buy some fluid and see if it solves the problem.
Has anyone had their fluid evaporate? Or is this bad servicing?
Alfa Romeo Guilietta QV, white, fast, and lots of fun...
