Yes, I genuinely get 50mpg if the cruise is set to 70mph on my perfectly flat, straight roman road of a commute..... it does 43/44 average in normal mixed driving. The change of tyres genuinely did help give it an extra couple of mpg.
....but, it doesn't answer the question. It is still for sale. I priced it cheaply as it has had a wishboney/track rod sort of creak for the last 20,000 miles at parking speeds. No one has been able to identify it, and it hasn't got worse, so I just lived with it, as the car feels tight and solid.
Therefore, I was looking for offers over £5300 - considerably cheaper than the cars on Auto Trader at the moment. It has had a recent cambelt, tensioners, a full service history and apart from the stonechips you'd expect after 103k miles, it is immaculate.
I may put it back on Ebay next week if I can't get a decent p/x - or I may keep it if it isn;t worth much in the trade. But if you are interested in a very honest, presentable, well looked after car for just over £5k, then PM me.
