Bluetooth and flashing odometer
Reluctant to start yet another thread on flashing odometers but hey...
Bought 2.2 06 reg Brera with 29k on the clock from an independent "Alfa Specialist". Flashing odometer from when I picked it up. For reasons too complicated to go into here, I didn't do anything about it until 36k service at authorised alfa service agent. They detected non-working Bluetooth unit (think it's too old for Blue and Me, or whatever that's called). Two new units ordered, both didn't work, so referred up to Alfa technical in UK then in Italy. Some months later, guy from garage rings to say he has a new unit. This one registers to the car and stops the flashing, but the Bluetooth doesn't work. Now I don't need Bluetooth, 'cos I don't believe in talking on phone while driving, even hand-free. But £200 is a bit steep just to stop a flashing odometer, so I've decided to live with it 'cos I like the car so much.
The garage says they have another guy with just the same problem. Were the original Bluetooth units dodgy? And have Alfa stopped supporting them now they have Blue and Me.
Anyone got any thoughts on this one?
