Thoughts on tyres

Have a 159 2.4 with 255 45 R18's. Looking to replace the tyres it came with something decent.
  • Road-noise
  • Wear
  • Grip

These are the key points and any thoughts welcome..

Hankook are excellent tyres, also worth considering is Kumho tyres also very good and then if your looking at bang for the buck go for Nankang NS-II tyres, alround condition grip and can take serious punishment from potholes etc. unfortunately a bit more noisy than the other expensive tyres but still a very good buy.

I'd agree with the Hankooks - much quieter than Eagle F1s or Michelin PS2s, especially when worn. Porbably good for 20K miles compared to the 10 - 12K I'd get out of F1s. Reasonable grip in the dry, good grip in the wet, and very progressive in snow

Second set of Bridgestones went on mine about a month ago. Difficult to compare to anything else but they are excellent in all 3 area's you mention. Grip in the wet is exceptional. Even in soaking conditions the asr/vdc never kicks in such is the grip.

Cost 165 a corner for 18's though, and that was on offer.
