Oil Change & DPF Regen

Hi, quick question, oil change warning came on during the weekend (bit surprised tbh), got the oil & filter replaced but now need to get the warning message reset, rang the closest dealer and they said I'de have to drop it in to get it reset, they also said they might have to do a forced DPF regen. Is that really the case?

If the DPF warning message isn't on, you probably dont need a regen.

If the dealer has an examiner then they'll beable to check the parameters for it, 2 main ones are DPF clogging, which is normally at around 70%, and DPF state, which will say "normal clogging" unless theres a problem. Takes 5 minutes to print them out so if they say you need a regen I would ask to see the parameters first to make sure they're telling you the truth.
