Less egr problems on the 170 hp, 2.0 diesel?

Just bought myself a 2010, white ti with the "new" 2.0 jtdm engine. Are the egr problems just as bad on this engine as the 1.9? Blocking the valve an option?

Probably a bit early in this engine's life to tell I think.

55,000 miles in my 1.9 and no problems.

The DPF is allegedly mounted closer to the engine on the 2.0 and therefore presumably runs hotter and more efficiently....... but I don't think the egr valve is any different and I'm sure I read on here of someone having issues already.
Having said that, it all depends on your typical journeys. I did 40,000 miles in my 1.9 without a DPF/EGR problem of any kind.

From what I have heard from friends, EGR valve problems can happen with any diesel. My work collegue's Audi broke down on the way back from Bristol due to the EGR valve going.
