159 with Hybrid front brakes
To save others the trouble that I have faced, a word of caution over 159 front brakes.
Some 159 1.9 JTDM models (MY08) (well mine at least) are fitted with a different front calliper and possible different disc to the 'standard' ones.
Most 1.9 JTDM and 2.0 JTS models have a disc pad that has two 'ears'. On mine they have two pins that hold the pad in place, like on the 2.4 JTDM and the 3.2. The pad is smaller though. It seems that although the calliper is not red, it is all the same a Brembo product (it has Alfa Romeo etched on it). I spoke with very helpful guy at EBC this morning and they have now confirmed they were unaware of this pad and they are going to put it into production.
Not much help to me though, I'm now going to have to go for stock AR part.
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
Driving Brera S 2.2, wife drives 939 Spider 2.2 and there is a 1972 Spider 2000 S2 in the garage for fun days.
