My car is now at the point that the engine will cut out during regen if I depress the clutch to change down gears when approaching junctions, roundabouts etc. As you can imagine, this can be scary at times but thanks to the regularity of the problem and the start button rather than a key, I've been getting away with the sudden loss off brakes and steering!
also becuase it doesn't regen often and I do fairly short journeys, it is always in a clogged state so 90% of the time the car is coughing in most gears.
Am I the only one who still has this problem? Alfa UK looked at it 2 years ago and said it wasn't an issue. It was my fault for driving it as I did. The car goes out of warrenty in October and I have 4 options.
1. Accept it and hope it doesn't get worse.
2. Find a company willing and able to rip the DPF off. (how much would that cost?)
3. "Swap" the 2.4 for a 2.2 or V6. (Wish I'd gone petrol at the time)
4. Sell and downgrade as I'm not ready to spend out on a new for old replacment.
I still love everything about my gorgeous car, except whats hiding under the hood.
PS...if anyone has a black V6 ti who is finding the fuel costs are a bit high and need a diesel I'll be happy to swap!! (car runs sweet as a nut....honest!!!
