since I've bought the GT 2.0JTS, I've been having trouble enjoying it, because the suspension is extremely hard, the front bumper is very low (so I must be very carefull when parking next to a curb etc.) and I live in Prague, which is a city with miles of cobblestone roads, narrow streets, speed bumps and countless other enemies of an Alfa GT. I love the car to bits, but I really don't feel very comfortable driving it around town (motorways and "out of town" roads are a completely different thing!
). Last week, I've visited my local dealer and compared the ride height of different cars (in the front bumper area - to see if you can park with front wheels touching the curb). What surprised me, is that a 3.2 JTS Brera (probably on 19'' alloys) was actually sitting about 5cm higher than my GT (I've used a brochure to compare the ride height, so the numbers are illustrative - people we're looking at me, probably thinking I'm crazy
). Seems like the GT is the lowest sitting Alfa currently in production (at least in the front bumper area)! What surprised me even more, is that even an Alfa 159 SW was actually sitting a little lower than the Brera. I'm not sure, if it's the wheels or anything else... Anyway, let's get to the point.
I'm seriously considering getting a 2.2JTS Brera (2006, Sky Window, 72000km). Is there anything specific, I should be worried about or watch out for? How about ride comfort, compared to the GT - better or worse? Is the turning circle any better in the Brera? How about fuel consumption - will the 2.2JTS eat much more than the 2.0 I currently have? I quite like the idea of having manual transmission again and I could definitely use some rear parking sensors. Thanks for any help or information
