Anyone found a trim restorer that can improve the dreadful 159 trim ?

Much as i love my Ti i can't believe how naff the the cheap rubber is that's used on the door / window trim.

My car is a year old yet the rubber / plastic looks about 10yrs old already, i could see from week 1 that this was always going to be the Achilles heel of such an attractive car, a real shame Alfa skimped in this area. Silver trim was always needed to match the wing mirrors on the Ti but sadly they persisted with the naff materials.

So to try and at least make the trim look something like I saturated it in Meguirs trim restorer, well this looked pretty reasonable for a day until the heavens opened and splat it all washed off onto the paintwork leaving a right mess. The next time i cleaned the car i had a hell of a job getting it off the paintwork as it seemed to neutralize the car shampoo.

So i'm back to square 1 lovely looking car with a cheap weathered trim - anyone have any products that do work and do actually stay on the trim when it rains ?

No matter what trim restorer you use, they still look naff

Chemicals guys trim gel, though after 2 and a half years, mine are still raw though, but I use this on other cars.

I've heard that Gummi Pflege is good, but I've not used it myself.
