Brera / 159 Owner with Brembos: Please read.
About a month ago my Brera S started making a real loud squeeking noise at low speed (not under breaking).... this noise is loud enough to draw peoples attention so you get the idea of the noise level. I took my car to Platts in Stoke on Trent yesterday and asked them to fix it.
Got a phone call earlier today saying your car is all done ready to pick up....great I thought!
When I got there and asked what the issue was I was told that its a normal 'characteristic' of Brembo brakes which many cars suffer from and as a result have done absolutely nothing! When I said I did not accept this the guy told me that he could make the noise go away but it would mean them stripping the brake unit down, clean, lube and re-assemble BUT I'd have to pay for it 'Because squeeks are only covered for 3 months!'
After his comment that most Alfa's with Brembo's suffer from this I said if that was the case, when I ask the question to all the people on Alfa Owner I should expect a resounding yes.
Anyone with Brembo's had the same issue (particularly Brera S owners)?
Remember I'm talking about a really loud squeek that comes from outside the car that you can hear at low speeds (up to 15 mph generally) when the break IS NOT pressed?
