White smoke in cabin
Hi, I've recently bought a Brera 2.4 JTDM 08 reg (my first Alfa), on Monday I was driving from Exeter to London pulled off at Reading services to enjoy a quick coffee and when I returned to the car it had white smoke blowing into the cabin from the drivers side footwell, I could also see some coming from underneath the car on the passenger side. It smelt to me like electrical burning. There were a couple of very helpful white van men who seemed to think it was coming from behind the bulk head and agreed it smelt like electrical burning.
After a very worrying 10 or so minutes it seemed to calm down and I risked continuing on my journey, nothing seemed to have been affected (air con fine, electrics seem OK) and no more smoke, even on the long journey back to Exeter.
I took it to the local dealership where after 5 minutes the mechanic suggested it could have been the clutch sticking in the heat or the clutch might be breaking up (not music to my ears, but still under warranty assuming it happens this year), but other than wait and see there wasn't anything they would do.
Having smoke enter the inside of the car like a dry ice machine is not really something I want to experience or see again, has anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions to what might have caused it or any checks I could do? Thanks in advance
