No problem, the thrust bearing is another term for a release bearing. I'm pretty sure you will have what is called a Concentric Setup, this is where the clutch slave cylinder and the thrust bearing are one and the same. Are you having any clutch issues at all? If the thrust bearing has worn it should make the noise regardless if the car is moving or stationary, also it should quieten down as soon as you depress the clutch. The gearboxes used in our cars is pretty strong and as long as the oil has been replaced/topped up when needed it should go on for quite some time, being diesel too it wouldn't have had to deal with very high revs. I hope it is a quick cheap fix for you but i would advise getting it looked at asap just in case! Any descent mechanic should be able to diagnose it very quickly once they've heard it. Good luck - Kev
