i had my garage broken into about 10 years ago go by the local gypsies, so we wired 240volts to the garage door handles which are about 6 feet off the ground. 2 days later the fuses blew one eveneing. so we ran around the back of the house to find one bloke polaxed on the ground with his hair smoking and his mate trying to wake im up. Called the police and stood over them while my mate went around to the side door of the garage and disconected the wires and reset the breakers.
Both got time and we got all my stuff back as when the police got to their caravan/trailer they found my stereo and about 10 others, garden furniture all sorts that had been pinched in the area.
These two thickos had no idea what had happedn and of course there was no evidence of us doing any wrong as we had time to put back the wiring.
Might be a bit iffy to do that on a car door but you could keepo the voltag eat 12v and bump up the amps as a deterent.
