^ what fraser said. I'm very impressed with the door closure in my "new" (2 1/2 yr old) 159
for the OP, be prepared for it not being german. This means the rock solid reliability that is German engineering and electronics may be found wanting in Alfas. Mechanically, the 159 appears much (MUCH) better than its predecessor. However, electronically (for example) the fuel use computer seems to be reporting figures from a different car so just switch it off coz it'll only irritate you in a sort of "why can't it just WORK" kind of way and detract from the real joy of alfas, driving the thing
the 2.4 is a superb engine aswell
oh, and you will have to put up with people who have never owned alfas regaling you with "facts" about their reliability relative to far superior German models. All sound a bit Teutonic? Well, there you go
get one, drive it, ignore the niggles and enjoy the thing. If you think that little things will bug you then stick with what you have. It's a very personal thing.
