Alfa 159 - sluggish / bogging down
I have been through a saga with regards to my 2006 159 (1.9 Diesel) which upon until the last few months has been very good.
The car has been very sluggish and had not picked up very well when pulling out of roundabouts etc and generally feeling really poor when accelerating from low speed and often needing to drop it down a cog which hadn't been the norm previously.
This went on until the engine light came on (limp mode kicked in - making it very difficult to drive) and a message referring to getting the engine checked, slightly panicked by this I went up to my local garage to get this checked and a fault code appeared that his kit stated was likely to be a blockage of some sort.
I then read the forum and actioned the following :
REPLACED AIR MASS FILTER
AGR VALVE CHECKED ETC
WARNING LIGHT SWITCHED OFF - AND SUGGESTED GET FORCED REGENERATION
FORCED REGENERATION DONE - GUEST ALFA ROMEO - SEEM A VERY GOOD DEALER
The car then ran very well over the coming month or so.
However yesterday the car seemed sluggish and on the way to work engine light came back on and the dreaded "Limp Home Mode" cut back in making the car difficult, however as I was near the Alfa dealer in Knowle I thought I would get this checked (better safe than sorry)
They checked the vehicle immediately and found a number of error codes and stated that this will take a little while to sort as need to go through a large number of sequenced checks, however they are now stating that they cannot trace the problem and are now going to have to contact Alfa (Italy) and are not able to give timings etc.
Obviously this worries me with regards to cost and timing etc, as I feel the dealer is at a loss.
Have any of you guys have any ideas and thoughts as these would be appreciated.
