Use gocompare, comparethemarket etc, make a note of their results. (put in a fake phone number unless you want lots of companies calling you)
Then sign up for an account on quidco and see which of the cheapest on your list are offering cashback. Use the quicco link to visit those insurers directly, buy through them and get a nice cheque from quidco in a couple of months time.
Lots of insurers offer around £70, basically offering you the commission they would pay the comparison sites.
Sometimes using the site directly is a little more than the comparison quote (but check the excess level of cover the comparison was offering) but the cashback usually brings it right down.
Or use the comparison site then ring up Flux or Sky with your best quote details and see what they will do.
