I have been searching this forum for advice on the 'Alarm not Available' error message. Many of the threads seem to end unconclusively.
Our experience, on my wife's '06 159 JTDm, is very similar to the symptoms described at the start of this thread. First, for a few weeks, the alarm would go off on its own accord, then over a few weeks it became progressivly harder to arm; for a while disabling the internal sensors allowed arming - but now not even that works.
I am keen to inspect the loom connectors for corrosion, but having had a quick look, would appreciate some guidance. By popping the 'firtree' fastners, the front edge of the plastic grill that covers the trough between the bonnet and windscreen can be lifted - peering underneath I see two large rubber 'bends' that are bolted to the bottom of the trough - they remind me of the thermostat housings from the Ford Crossflow (showing my age there).
But because I can't seem to seperate the grill from the windscreen, it looks like unbolting these would be a difficult job, so would like assurance that these were the connectors in question, and should I be looking at the near or off side?
