Dashboard rattle

Help chaps.

I've started to get a rattle that sounds like it is coming from around the area of the instrument pinnacle but everything seems in place and free from movement.

There isn't a pattern to the rattle either; sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.

Any ideas?

have you found / fix the rattle problem. Mine seems to come from the ventilation grid which is on the top of dashboard. When I touch it it dissapears. However it's only few days since I'm driving it. So I have to look at it more closely first.

I had something very similar to this, it seems as though it is a common problem.
I solved it by wedging three pieces of rubber in-between the dash and the windscreen, the problem has completely gone.

Hope this helps.

I also had an annoying rattle that appeared to be coming from somewhere near the right hand ventilation pipe - I spent ages trying to find it without success. However my son noticed that it went when the brake pedal was being used and it turned out to be a loose Allen screw in the aluminium brake pedal. A quick tighten and all was peaceful again!
