Help Alfa 159 3.2 Problem filling the fuel tank

My Alfa 159 is two years old and I cannot obtain more than half a tank of petrol from any Esso, BP and Texaco site. If I go to a Shell site sometimes I can obtain a full tank and sometimes I can't. The only sites where I can always obtain a full tank are ADSA and Somerfields. I believe both these sites dispense their petrol slower than the others. I have tried holding the nozzle every way under the sun and I have tried waiting for the back presuure to die down and I have tried filling the tank as slowly as I can. But to no avail.

Has/is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know a cure?

When you have a 3.2 you spend a lot of time in petrol sites and so this will be helpful to put right!

Welcome to AO!

It's a known issue with 3.2 tanks. Try a thread search to pick out some of the older threads.

The tank should have been replaced under warranty.

Isn't that quite unusual on the 2.2, SR?

I thought it had something to do with the shape of the tank to fit around the Q4 rear diff
