Spider window controllers can be a bit of a mare because the roof/hood control mechanisms are linked to the window controllers, as the windows opening a bit is a part of the roof opening/closing procedure. This makes for a complicated set-up which seems to get confused sometimes. Had a couple of issues with the wife's Spider, mostly because she only used the roof about 5 times a year, so the roof mechanisms got very stiff and tended to set off all sorts of electronic safety devices including the windows.

As MJ says, Breras are generally fine as there is no roof mechanism to complicate things. Of course, if you disconnect the car battery for long enough, it wipes the window controller memory, so you just need to set them again using the simple procedure above, i.e:
- open window and hold button in open position for about 5 secs,
- then close window and hold button in close position for 10 secs, job done.

Brera 2.4 JTD

Back to me this morning with a new window motor and regulator fitted.

Couldn't find anything in the system relating to the loss of power.
Maybe it was a DPF not finished and clogging up the system?

Hopefully it will not need to go in again before the three year service in a couple of months time.

I had the same issue when I disconnected the battery, had the window warning lights, done the reset as advised by the above link (opened each window and left my finger on the button for ten seconds then closed it leaving my finger in again for ten seconds) and all working fine! Hoorah!
