Looking forward to picking up my new 159 TI TBi (Stromboli Grey) on Tuesday (from the very helpful Bauer-Milletts in Manchester) - I hope there isn't too much traffic on the Snake Pass on the way back home to Nottingham! They were far more pleasant than my local dealers, and have a fab showroom for such stunning cars, so the drive was worth it in every respect.
I have wanted one of these beauties for the last couple of years, since having a 2.4 159 as a courtesy car whilst my 147 Selespeed had a oil level sensor replaced. Even SWMBO thinks it is a glorious car, and nearly insisted on it; given the pleasure that the 147 has bought (and NO Selespeed issues at all!).
The 60/40 split and and heated front sports seats with beautiful embroidery convinced Madam that the Ti was a necessity; although I'd have got one without her approval
The last 3 weekends have been a pleasurable series of test drives (2.4- big grins!; 2.2JTS- laggy! TBi - big grins!). Given my low milage the TBi seemed a winner.
I'm looking forward to many more years as a proud ALFA owner, and continuing our family tradition (Gt Uncle a Generale in the Carabinieri).
Although I'll be saying a sad farewell to my 147; I cannot wait to proudly drive off in the 159!
