OK, had to change the front (Pirelli) tyres as they were virtually bald on the inside edge and 2->3mm on the middle and outer edge. The rear tyres (same age) are 5->6mm across the tread! I do mainly motorway driving.
The Front tyres have done nearly 14,000 miles which is probably a good figure, looking at all the other posts; but crap as an expectation of a tyre on a car IMHO.
The Accelera front tyres are now on and I must admit the road holding feels sound as a pound, for far less pounds than Pirelli P0 Neros! Grip and noise levels are excellent and they feel far better that the graduated tread depth on the Pirelli's.
One other point. I had the wheel alignment checked and it was "within tolarence" between 0.12 and 0.4, with the LHS at 0.11 and RHS at 0.05. This may be the reason for some of the tyre wear and the drifting across the road that the car has been doing recently. Merit-Tyres did a 4-Wheel alignment and got them to the mid-point of 0.08 on both LHS & RHS. My 159 drives in a stright line now, doesn't drift and handles much better. It only cost £25 +vat (@20%) = £30 and well worth it.
