Hmmm, either mine or your math is way wrong. I have calculated a saving of 2p per mile based on 14 gallons 1.20 per litre. This would take 35,000 miles to recover the 700 outlay. Not bad with the extra oomph.

Rhodesm is about right.
my mpg went from ~34 to ~41 with the remap and DPF removal from Gus.
As I do 15k per year my math worked it out to have paid for itself in about 2 yrs*.
Of course the "wall of torque" it now has is just an added bonus

*could be sooner if you factor in the cost of not having to ever replace the DPF or the EGR valve (which Gus will diasble as part of the remap if you ask).

Hi Jupiter. That's probably true but I wasn't looking to make it pay for itself in fuel economy. I bought my car in may this year and done 11.5k now. The most enjoyable ones are after the remap. The smoothness of the drive is all grin-factor and is worth it all the way to me...

Reviving an old thread.

I've just booked my 1.9 JTDm into Motormech in Birmingham for DPF removal and remap. Total cost is just 300 so should be a bit of a bargain conversion. They're going to disable the EGR valve at the same time as well so that should be another problem avoided.

DPF Removal Alfa 159, Brera & GT

Quoted "after" figures are 195bhp and 301 lb/ft of torque. Its an Angel Tuning map and I've read good reviews on here about them.

I've been using Motormech for years so I'm sure it will be done well. I'll let you know how it goes.

Any similar coversions done recently and how did you find it? I'm very interested in getting more low-down power so I hope this will help.

Guys just wondering what's the impact on the clutch/gearbox of a 1.9 remap?
