So I've been an Alfa owner for a month, and my first problem has arrived
When we first had it, it was excellent at keeping misting up at bay providing the aircon was left on permanently. The misting sensor kicked in if any condensation appeared, and it was all gone in seconds. Now is another story.
The windows won't stop misting up, and I mean severely - water running down the windscreen. The strange thing is it seems to get worse on a long journey - drove 80 miles to Heathrow and back last night and it was purgatory. The only thing that would clear it was hitting the High demist button and putting it straight back on again when the timer ran out.
The aircon compressor is still running - I tested this at idle by flicking it on and off and I could see and feel the revs drop when it kicked in. I can only assume there is either a hole in the aircon system, or that there is standing water somewhere in the ventilation system that's being picked up by the fans and pumped into the car. If I turned everything off, and opened the window, the condensation would go, so it's not just the outside air, moisture is actually being _added_ to the air, it would seem.
Anyone else seen this, know of any reasons, before I embark on the dealer trail?
