I've just made it home from Solihull after a really scary drive in heavy snow.
On the whole, I thought the car was OK but I took it very steady unlike some of the idiots out there.
On the downside, my VDC, ASR, ABS & hill holder all failed at the first steep hill I came to drive down
I was in 1st gear, no feet on pedals so just crawling down the hill. The car juddered, made some weird noises then hit me with the warnings.
On the upside, I passed numerous BM's, Merc's & Jag's that were all stuck with no traction
I continued and after about 10 miles I pulled over & turned the car off (GTleigh's suggestion).
I left it for a few mins, started the car up, it cycled through the beeps & visual warnings and then cleared
How the heck do our Continental cousins cope? Should we move to compulsory winter tyres?
Anyone who says that driving your own valuable car in the snow in the UK on standard Tyres is, IMHO, barking mad!!
Dangerous & scary
