I've just figured out the Brera S - Italy manufactured RHD Brera SVs and non SVs for Britain in accordance with their sales predictions, as they had decided to give us the option to choose SV or non-SV from 2008 onwards.
Then it turned out that us Brits pretty much all ordered Brera SVs. All of a sudden you have a big supply of RHD cars that you can't sell anywhere within reach (antipodies too far and would expect SV as standard I suspect). Oh, and it's the middle of a recession.
What do you do? "Best of British Best of Italian" campaign - pay Pro Drive to develop some suspension mods, add some nice new trim and new wheels. Hey presto, 500 excess models sold... or they would have done if we Brits hadn't come to expect SV & B&M as standard.
