159 dipped beams
I know there have been some past threads on exactly this subject, but I thought i would write about my own experiences!
Since darkness arrived I noticed that my dipped beam was not performing as I would like it to. Don't get me wrong - it wasn't bad... It just wasn't good!
My first port of call was uprating my dipped beam bulbs to Osram Night Breakers. I spent some time trying to understand the pros/cons between The Osram vs the Phillips X-Tremes and to be honest - after a lot of digging, my own personal opinion was that these two were very similar. 6 or half a dozen. The main difference was price, with Phillips a clear 30%-40% more expensive. After further search, I found some guys on EBAY, who sold me a pair of the Osram for £14 including delivery. AND, it arrived the next day. Preety happy with that!
Having installed the Osram's, I could tell the difference in the light - but it still wasn't perfect. It was failry obvious that the height was gonna need some manual adjustment.
So, ive just used my mini wrench to adjust both right and left dipped beams and just waiting for complete darkness for me to take the bella out.
I guess, the point im trying to make is that sometimes its easier to adjust height on the beam, than it is to change the lightbulb!
That said, I still need to see how many fellow drivers will flash me (due to my new beam height)....
