Any ecu remap would give a marked increase in performance, All the same honest 6 and 2, 3's.
Talking to Dex, the manager at Benfield in Newcastle, He was admiring my Brera and saying how great it looked lowered 30mm and nice alloys he said really go with car. Talking about remapping he said, his own 159 would leave my brera standing as his was the 210!!! His exact words were ' its not the extra 10 bhp its how it puts it down!' So, great, Thanks Dex, being happy with my car up until that point I was a bit p'ed off and wish I had the 210 after that, LOL! Even torque is the same, but comes in 500 rpm earlier ! and really no turbo lag at all. ALL 200 bhp 2.4's suffer terrible turbo lag! Logic prevails- That’s why Fiat did some tuning on the 2.4 JTDM late 07- New turbo, garret wi bearings, new fuel rail, diff pipes and hoses and ECU I think, was retuned or completely new type, can't remember. So Cider Phil yours being the 210 sorry, DEFO! summit a miss there my friend, Leaking hose or worse a leaking intercooler, would defo cause you what it sounds like; I've had both problems with other cars. Try getting the wife to rev car while you’re near front of car, NOT IN FRONT OF CAR, less you really trust her! Turbo comes in a little on stand still and you will hear the hiss! Sometimes you have to pull handbrake right on (or 2 bricks right in front of front wheels and just get the biting point of clutch and try to pull away hard just for a half second and off the acc, clutch in - you'll hear the turbo really spool up ( do it wrong and you’ll smell that lovely smell of clutch plate burning mmmm) and trust me if ya got a leak it'll hiss like a rattle snake! Let us all know what it is Phil! Best o luck and if the wife runs you over- I will delete this post.
