Warning 20" on 159

Will i be able to fit 9x20 front and 10.5x20 back ET40 on a 159?
I know its REALLY big, but could be fun to try it... Probably not alot of 20" 159's around!

Even if you do go to 20", DO NOT fit wider rears on a FWD car....

be mindful too of tyres. the 'load index' and 'speed rating' should at least meet the specified requirement for the car. otherwise, it can have implications on insurance (and of course your MOT, i presume). they are of course a safety issue.

but...DO IT!

i think 8.5" or 9" wide wheels would easily suffice.

I have +8mm offset through wheel spec and 5mm spacers (19's) and I wouldn't go more than 15mm.
So going on your request the 9x20 et40 fronts will have +14mm so just about ok, but your'l need to keep the rubber profile tight or roll the arch lip maybe on lock, the rear would be ok at 9x20 et40 but 10.5x20 et40 will extend an extra 33mm they will foul the arch, you would need a wheel with et59 to match the front (14mm extended), and also the inner clearance would be 50mm less so may foul rear spring/damper.

Have a play with offsets here:

what jb said, and i can confirm that with the 15mm spacers (on the 19" TIs, et41) and lowered suspension the front wheels were dangerously close to the arches on full lock.
