Ok, before you all worry my car's going all Pete Tong again, it should
sound like that.
John at Mangos worked his magic on the 159 last week and I now have their air induction kit fitted to the beastie. It was a sod to fit - not normally, just on my car. Blame the front splitter covering up the bolt heads to enable the front bumper to be removed. John had to take the wheel off, remove the wheel arch liner and access the air box that way instead.
The old air box is a real mess. A big heavy lump of mank. Technical term
It creates so much turbulence and actually impedes smooth air flow.
Anyway, it didn't take me long to appreciate the new bit of kit. Low down rev pickup improved even more, turbo spools up WAY quicker and it sounds good/bizarre in a good way.
Think of Hannibal Lecter here with his odd noise:-

Crossed with Airwolf giving it a full tins of beans (ignore the footage, just listen to the sound!) :-

Combine the two and you get the idea.
Light throttle, low rev lift off and you have a waste-gate/dump valve sort of chatter noise.
Full throttle sounds better. Deeper, more muscular and somewhat like the 5 cylinder Audi petrols.
All of this combined with my Novitec exhausts, makes the diesel sound good. So,
to all you disbelievers!
AOers now get a discount too
£149 fitted. (normally £199 I think
Mikey and I have got this fitted and I think we're both happy with the additional mods.
Thanks again John. That's another pint I owe you
