After all the random warning messages that I got, the laggy turbo and the cold start issues, the car has been brought back to Motorvogue, who's gonna take care of it all (once again, a really nice bunch of people!).
I've been (fortunately!) given another Brera as service car, another 2.4JTDm with 09 reg, and it is quite an interesting comparison with mine:
The outer looks are exactly the same, the only difference being the fancy dark grey 5 holes alloys (me like a lot!!
). The interiors received some relevant update (at least lookswise!): red bucket seats, new gauge dials and dark tinted aluminium paneling above all.
The only thing I really do like is the looks of the newer dials, I think that the brushed aluminium look on mine is far better and more distinctive; I was quite disappointed with the new seats though: although being stunning looking, I find them quite uncomfortable (yes, Im a fat ****, but still..) and leaving less room for legs.
As for the driving, I went for a quick legs stretch and there are two things that impressed me:
1) the gearbox seems a bit smoother (did they use a new gearbox for the latest Brera version or is mine being a bit clunky?)
2) the turbo is there from lower revs and you can tell the difference, although the first gear seems to be more exuberant on my car.. the 2nd/3rd steps are just fantastic!
I know that there are 10 extra hp on the new one and that it has a new turbo, but I was expecting a bit more.. this leaves me more than satisfied with my 06 Brera!
The only two things I would nick are the alloys and the dials!
I'll probably keep it over the weekend, tomorrow I wanna see what the consumption is like, but I already saw on the average mpg that it's just like mine..
