Thanks again for all the posts. Since tyre wear seems to cause veryone a problem, wouldn't it be good if there was an official government measure for tyre wear, just like mpg and CO2 emmissions, etc?
That way, at least ther'e be a comparison possible, and it would give people an idea of wear. Obviously, the mpg figures quoted are always different to those actually returned (always less....), but at least there's a relative figure to compare. I mean, the dealer never says 'Oh, by the way, it's going to cost you £800 for new tyres every 12k miles', does he?
The posts on this and other threads show that this issue, along with mpg, are probably the most annoying for drivers.
In the meantime, still waiting to hear from Dew's re. any subsidy. I'm not holding my breath.....
I'm also trying to find a Ti to drive to comare to mine, just to see if my car handles the same, or if it's actually worse. I am just sick of the way the car goes off in a direction other that the one I'm pointing it in.
