Well Done Northgate Alfa (Canterbury)

I always believe in credit where it's due, as we are all only too willing to criticise when things don't go well.

So a big thumbs up for Northgate Alfa in Canterbury, and Adrian the Service Manager.

Primarily I was having a new key coded to the car (at 38 cheaper than quoted by another local Alfa dealer).

I also got them to look at a problem with my clutch. It worked fine except that after 20 mins or so on a Motorway (without changing gear), the clutch felt really heavy the first time I pressed it. After that first press, it would go back to it's normal weight. I expected this might be a bit of a drama because obviously I couldn't expect the Dealer to take the car for a long enough test drive to replicate the problem. Full marks to them though because they've replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder under warranty, without question. Hopefully that's resolved the problem.

They've also improved mysloppy/baulky gearchange. It's still not perfect, but a huge improvement on how it was.

The final bonus, despite them not mentioning anything to me, is that they must have done something to the ECU. The car feels like it's had a mild remap - the turbo spools up a lot quicker now; and once spooled up to 1.4 bar, it holds that boost right up to the red-line. Previously it's only held full boost for a very short period and been much slower to spool up. I'd love to know what they've done - in fact I'm going to e-mail to try and find out!

The only thing to take the shine off slightly was seeing the Fixed Price Servicing Menu......505 for my 36,000 mile service....which is due in less than 3,000 miles! I might still try an Alfa specialist in Cousley Wood for that!

Sounds like a good job and customer experience John!

I really don't think in the main that Alfa dealers are any different to any other marque... Some great, and some not so... It's the old addage... Great service = Great sales...Simples
