After much deliberatation, I've bottled out of selling my GT to replace it with a 159. There are a few things that in the end beat me and I couldn't get my head around. Probably silly to some people but they bugged me.
The rear door handles, no matter how much I tried to accept/ignore them, I couldn't, why didn't Alfa fit the a-la-156. They look bulky, protrusive and just plain ugly.
The ignition key, why-o-why didn't they leave it alone? If I'm going to stick a key in the dash I might aswell turn it, not stick it in, press the clutch, push a start button, tedious, and I bet very expensive if it all goes wrong.
From some angles, the 159 has lost the svelte looks of the 156, it just looks too fat and too much like an old mans saloon, unless you can afford a top spec Ti the car looks pretty normal.
Now don't jump on me guys, I'm not slagging this car off, just giving my reasons for not changing my GT to one after test driving and much heart wrenching. The 159 is more comfortable than mine and the driving dynamics are a big step in the right direction, build quality is better and it's an all round better made/thoughtout car, but those points above just niggled me.
