Right - I've had my 159 3.2 Q4 for a week now and ...... I love it!
I'll get the one negative out of the way. It doesn't feel blisteringly fast off the line for the BHP it has but, to be honest, after reading opinions about the weight etc I'm not that surprised or bothered really.
It's wonderfully responsive once you're rolling and I love the fact that you have power from around 3000rpm and then it goes quicker.....and quicker....and quicker - I love that spread of power - I can't get out of 4th on some of the roads around my way!
The handling is wonderful - it just somehow feels so solid around corners. I'm sure that I'm chickening out way before I get near its limits. I must try it on a track sometime - Nurburgring maybe!
Cabin is excellent - really like the metal part of the dash and the recessed dials - Just needs a proper round clock IMHO! Seats are very supportive and comfortable
The weight of the steering I feel is just right, not to over-servoed like alot of modern cars in my opinion - same goes for the brakes - it's just a great drive, what more can I say!!
And that's before we get to the styling. I think most people are in agreement about how good it looks. Just seems that the Italians do style and (yes I know it's a cliche) passion for the machinery that they design and build better than most (which reminds me I wish I still had my Ducati 250 single!!)
Also, it does seem that build quality is at last catching up as well - fingers crossed!
BTW my 159 is black with the horseshoe alloys which I think looks great.
One last plus in my view is that it's nice to have something that's a bit different to the crowd. I'm not a poser but it's nice to be a bit individual.
Oh yes I forgot, there is the thirst - OK it is only doing 19mpg around town but you can't help putting your foot down a bit - and if economy was my main priority I would have bought a Prius!
PS Did I mention that I quite like it
