Hi, Can anyone help.
4 weeks ago I bought an '08 159 1.9 Lusso saloon from my local dealer. Whilst stuffing personal crap into the boot I noticed that the rear of the seat area sort of "looked wrong".
The carpet around the ski-tunnel looked like it was not fixed properly and there appeared to be a cover required over the plastic surround to the access hole for long items.
I called the dealer and the sales manager checked another car in their used stock; this was the same. He concluded that as it looked like a bit was missing, it was missing from both cars and agreed to order one.
It arrived today at the dealers and I got a call telling me that the part that came was identical to what was on my car, the used example - and a new stock vehicle that had arrived.
Considering the high overall finish of the car, what you see looking into the boot just looks wrong to me. It looks like a "ring" should clip over the assy, sandwiching the carpet and hiding the edges. Indeed there appear to be lugs around the part that would engage on a cover assy.
My 159 has the fixed rear seats. I've attached a piccy of the eyeball offending area.
Mind you, it's reassuring that this is all I've got to gripe about!
